BCM will recruit more than 200 additional
physicians over the next eight years to
fully staff the hospital, bringing much needed
physicians to the Houston community.
The 415,000-sq-ft hospital will offer
600 beds with approximately 250 beds
available in phase one. The emergency
department will have 10 exam rooms and
three procedure rooms.
The associated 288,000-sq-ft clinic will
focus on personalized, gene-based medicine,
will be open in 2011.
The hospital will mark the first time in
its history that BCM has had its own inpatient
facility. It will play a vital role in
expanding BCM’s growing translational
research studies and in shortening the
time it takes to translate basic science discoveries
into new medical treatments.
