Environmental issues have arisen and intensified as airpollution
levels have become so bad that people walk the
streets of Bangkok with handkerchiefs across their faces.
Added to this are the traffic jams of cars and buses [2],
which add significantly to air and noise pollution in Bangkok
and, increasingly, in other developed urban areas such as
Chiang Mai and Pattaya. Environmental issues have created
negative results within the Thai tourism industry. Cleaning
beaches and tourism destinations (such as World Heritage
site at Ayutthaya) will help relieve environmental concerns
and improving the quality of seawater at beach areas are
ways to maintain the number of international tourists and
create positive responses to the country.
