Why is mobile marketing any different from ordinary online marketing?
In one sense, it isn't. The same kinds of ad formats you find on Web sites
are also used on smartphonesr—-in order of importance, search, dlsplay,
video, and text messages. In another sense, mobile marketing can be
very different from other types of online marketing because of the unique
features of the smartphone, which include a built—in GPS, a gyroscope,
and an accelerometer. This means marketers can know the location of the
user, and they can present rich media and video ads where the user can
control the action in a way not possible with an ordinary PC.
