Take the egg and gently tap it on the table until the shell cracks.
Repeat step one until there are cracks running around many parts of the egg.
You can think of the pieces of shell on the egg as tectonic plates.
The egg white beneath the surface is like the mantle of the Earth because it allows
the egg shell to slide over it easily.
Move pieces of the shell around with your finger and observe what happens at the cracks.
