Furthermore, he believed that the Confucian emphasis on family relationships was simply encouraging society to be divisive (focusing on family instead of society at large).
So he rejected the Confucian ideas of li / proper behavior. Instead, he wanted to establish three standards for ethical actions.
Mozi was interested in examining the philosophy of language—debating about ethics and moral policies. So he looked at logic and language.
