I believe we belong to the place in which we were born and it surprises me when you say you feel you belong in the UK. You may feel frustrated working for the family firm at first but 'time at the coal-face' will change this. In other words, in time you will come to understand the business culture and eventually shape it. On many occasions I have provided consultancy to second generation clients. I am assuming that by local standard your family business is generally a good place to work; otherwise most staff would not have stayed in the job for 8 years or more.
