Chanced upon a movie theatre tonight just in time to see American Hustle. Really liked it, but thought it ended too quickly. It kept snowballing and snowballing and then to have it wrapped up in a voice over was disappointing to me. I'm not sure it would be what it is without incredible performances. Jennifer Lawrence really is such a fine actress though. At first I didn't believe her as a young single mother, but she had me totally sold by the end. She NEEDS to play Little Edie in one reincarnation of Grey Gardens or another, she would be absolutely perfect. Other peoples thoughts on the movie? Oh. Also I absolutely hated the awkward choice to put "You're the top" from Anything Goes over the first dinner between Irving and the mayor. It felt so so out of place among the rest of the great 70s music in the soundtrack. It also took me way to long to figure out that when Amy Adams says "meet me at 54th street" she meant Studio 54. Uh duh.
