Multiple linear regression was performed to estimate the added
percentages of grapefruit juice from the IC scores. The advantage of
MLR is its simple form and easily interpretable mathematical
expression. It is also well suited for relatively small data.
The complete sample set is formed by different mixtures pre-pared by adding different percentages (1%, 2%, up to 20%...)of
grapefruit juice to the orange juices (with two separate prepara-tions for each mixture) and two commercial juices containing
55% grapefruit juice and 45% orange juice (with two replicates
for each sample).
This prepared sample set was divided into two groups. The first
one was used for the calibration (one preparation for each mixture)
and the second one to test the model (the rest of the preparations).
