Three separate experiments were performed using a novel microencapsulated
organic acids blend (OAB) in the diets of L. vannamei to
evaluate on their impact on (1) growth performance, muscle crude protein
and lipid content, total presumptive Vibrio spp. colony forming
units (CFU) in the hepatopancreas, phenoloxidase activity (PO) and
hepatopancreatic histopathology after 50 days, (2) dry matter and
phosphorus availability and (3) resistance to V. harveyi challenge and
associated changes to PO activity and hepatopancreatic histopathology
