Police received a report on Monday evening that a shooting incident had occurred at the Nangzab pub and restaurant on Third Road in North Pattaya. As police arrived to investigate, they were told that the gunman had left and was hiding in a parked car nearby. On searching the area they came across 29 year old Mr. Tharathorn Chomthong, who turned out to be the owner of the pub. On searching, officers found a 38mm loaded gun in a shoulder bag placed on a seat. He stated that he was drinking with his friends when three teenagers came along and placed traffic cones in front of the pub, and when he went out to intervene, the gang attacked him. So he drew his licensed gun and shot into the sky with the intention of frightening them, which it did as they fled the scene. A report was made and a full investigation is underway.
