1. What drew you to pursue international research/research with an international perspective? Why is it exciting for you?
EJP: Human development is bounded by the contexts within which it occurs. I study how people are socialized to the world of work. Work contexts vary within and across countries and the globalization of work has brought profound changes to the nature of work in eastern and western societies. International research in this area is not only exciting but necessary because we live in times that permit the study of how global changes, manifested differently within societies, influence the substance and form of how people prepare for and adapt to the world of work.
