Singapore currently has one of the fastest growing economies in the world. However, it also has an extremely low birth rate and an appallingly high rate of ageing. Approximately 10% of the population of 5 million is aged over 65. This figure will increase to about 25% by the year 2020. With such shocking statistics, many questions come to mind.
Thus, Singapore's Government has to formulate policies that address the possible problems of an aging population and take preventive measures to counter the same.
