In this study, we attempted to use oil palm fronds (OPF) juice as a carbon source for succinic acid production. Many renewable resources have already been investigated for succinic acid production by Actinobacillus succinogenes, the strain which is recognized as one of the most promising candidate for industrial succinic acid production. This is the first investigation focusing on the possibility of utilizing fermentable sugars from oil palm frond juice for production of succinic acid by A. succinogenes 130Z.
