DSM-5 major depressive episode
At least 5/9 with either 1 or 2
1. Depressed mood
2. Markedly diminished interest or pleasure
3. Significant weight loss/gain
4. Insomnia or hypersomnia
5. Psychomotor agitation or retardation
6. Fatigue or loss of energy
7. Feelings of worthlessness or excessive or inappropriate
guilt
– Diminished ability to think or concentrate, or indecisiveness
1. Recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal ideation, or attempt
(nearly every day, almost all day)

Brief DSM-5 criteria:
1. Excessive anxiety and worry
2. A number of events
3. At least 6 months
4. At least 3/6 symptoms:
• Restlessness, feeling keyed up or on edge.
• Being easily fatigued
• Difficulty concentrating
• Irritability
• Muscle tension
• Sleep disturbance
5. Significant distress or impairment in functioning
6. Not caused by substance or medical condition
7. Not explained by another medical disorder
