White wine - made from any colour grape, but the skins & pips are sieved out of the juice when it is pressed
Red wine - made from red skinned grapes, the skins and pips are left in after pressing to give the wine colour & tannin
Rose wine - either made as a red wine, but the skins & pips are taken out earlier than with a red wine OR a blend of red & white wine
Champagne - A white wine that has extra yeast added once the initial fermentation has finished to produce the fizz it has.
Temperature - White & Rose are normally served lightly chilled, though some very sweet white wines are served at the same temperature as red ... Red wine should NOT be served at room temperature, it should be served around 55 - 60 F ... Champagne and other sparkling wines should be server well chilled
Once opened - 2 or 3 days, up to a week if you have a wine saver. Sparkling wine will be flat though after this time and should be drunk as soon as it is opened
