An employer shall inform an employee of his normal working hours by specifying the starting and finishing times for each working day. The working day shall not exceed the number of working hours prescribed for each category of work as laid down by Ministerial Regulations, provided that the number of working hours in one day shall not exceed eight and the total number of working hours in one week shall not exceed 48, except where the work may be harmful to the health or safety of the employee as prescribed by Ministerial Regulations in which case the normal number of working hours in one day shall not exceed seven and the total number of working hours in one week shall not exceed 42.
When the employer cannot specify the starting and finishing time for a working day due to the nature or type of work, the employer and the employee shall agree to fix the number of working hours for each day so as not to exceed eight hours, and the total number of working hours in one week so as not to exceed 48 hours.
