Nonetheless, two r processes may have occurred. Ever since the seminal study of Seeger et al. (1965) of r-process systematics it has been known that no single r process reproduces the entire abundance curve. A short time solution can produce the light r process and the A=130 abundance peak; and a long-time solution can produce matter above about A=130 such that the A=130 peak overabundance is less than the overabundance of the A=195 peak (and of 182Hf).
