dents and experienced faculty members used
the evaluation tool to assess a cardiovascular
physiology CD-ROM [44]. The evaluation
sessions were videotaped to record comments
and to stimulate later recall. The scoring and
comments of the evaluators were compiled,
compared and analyzed.
The tool’s ability to help evaluators detect
subtle differences in software was assessed by
having four volunteer graduate nurses use the
tool to evaluate two versions of a peritoneal
dialysis CD-ROM [45]. The two versions differed
with respect to references, screen color,
navigation methods, formative quiz, and
presence of feedback. The nurses were also
asked to identify qualitative differences between
the two versions. The evaluation data
from these sessions were compared and
analyzed.
