Samecka-Cymerman and Kempers (1996) used Scapania undulata
to remove mercury from wastewaters (0.005 mg L1) from
pesticide factories during 14 days of observation. Initial and final
mercury concentrations in plant tissue samples were 0.05 mg kg1
and 2.40 mg kg1, respectively, corresponding to an augmentation
factor of 48 times.
