Samples were collected weekly or fortnightly at
times, due to staff availability. Once purchased, samples were kept
refrigerated at 4 °C during transport and delivered to the laboratory
within 24 h. Samples were collected from metropolitan retail outlets
in SA, but it was known that both chicken meat and eggs were
supplied from a number of states through-out Australia and then sold
within SA (M Sexton, personal communication, PIRSA)
