DPPH scavenging assay was used to indicate antioxidant activity
of the film. This assay is based on the ability of DPPH, a stable free
radical, to be quenched and thereby decolorize in the presence of
antioxidants resulting in a reduction in absorbance values (Enayat
& Banerjee, 2009). In the DPPH test, the antioxidants reduce the
DPPH radical to a yellow-colored compound, diphenylpicrylhydrazine,
and the extent of the reaction depends on the hydrogendonating
ability of the antioxidants (Blois, 1958).
The results showed that DPPH scavenging activi
