has a stronger antimicrobial effect against Gram-positive bacteria
than against Gram-negative bacteria. In our study, both Gram-positive
and Gram-negative bacteria had mean log10 reductions above and
below 1 log10 CFU. However, a slight tendency towards a higher
antimicrobial activity against the Gram-positive bacteria was found as
a higher proportion of the Gram-positive bacteria displayed mean
log10 reductions which were higher than the ones observed for the
Gram-negative bacteria
