2.7.2. Parameters of fermentation efficiency
Concentrations of reducing sugars obtained by SSF were determined using dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) reagent (Bernfeld, 1955). The reaction was stopped by addition of DNS reagent, followed by boiling for 5 min. After cooling, the absorbance of the reaction mixture was measured at 540 nm. Glucose was used as standard. Protein concentrations were determined by Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 (Bradford,1976) using bovine serum albumin as protein standard.
