December 8 2015
Corporate Logistics Department
1. Policy
(1) Promote the logistics improvement activities from a global point of view
(2) Train logistics engineers for further improvement
(3) Ensure compliance and promote CSR
2. Target
(1) Target reduction amount of annual logistics cost including procurement and production
A. Targets for Business Groups (Table-1.):

B. Targets for Affiliated Companies (Table-2.):
Targets for each Affiliated Company are announced separately.
Table-2. Target reduction amount of annual logistics cost for Affiliated Companies
Affiliated Companies
Reduction amount (100M JPY) Reduction rate
Distribution
Procurement
& Production Total Total
Manufacturing and after-purchase service 5.0 1.3 6.3 1.9%
Sales 2.5 0.2 2.7 1.1%
* Reduction rate = Reduction amount / Logistics cost (before improvement)
* Target reduction amount is set based on logistics cost of FY15 Estimate.
(2) Logistics Lead Time Improvement
A. Plan and promote activities to improve Logistics Lead Time at each Business Group and Affiliated
Company.
3. Improvement activities
(1) Promote the logistics improvement activities from a global point of view
A. Distribution Logistics Improvement
a) improve load efficiencies of trucks or containers (adjust deliveries, use vanning simulators, combine
small shipments, etc.)
b) optimize transportation methods (consider more use of trains or less air)
c) make use of round trip transportation for containers or trucks (cooperate with external companies)
d) reduce ocean freight by combining shipping volume (build IT system to track deliveries)
CONFIDENTIAL
e) improve packaging (make packages smaller and simpler based on the data of transportation
environment, switch to unit load and returnable packages if reasonable, and improve packing of
knock-down part)
f) improve storage and handling (consolidate outside warehouses, improve the storing efficiency, and
improve warehouse operation by using IT support)
B. Procurement & Production Logistics Improvement
a) improve the logistics efficiencies by consolidating the warehouses for distribution and procurement,
and increase the productivity of production sites by JIT deliveries
b) share the infrastructure of distribution logistics
c) improve parts deliveries of central purchasing and VMI (vender managed inventory)
d) review transportation cost of procurement by separating from total purchasing cost
C. Supply Chain Network Optimization
a) optimize warehouse locations according to local sites operations and market changes
b) select transportation methods to shorten delivery lead time
c) implement direct transport of procurement items from suppliers instead of transport through mother
factories
d) increase the frequency of shipment by combining several products from multiple production sites
e) reduce international transportation by producing locally and purchasing from local suppliers
D. Improvement of transportation, packing, storing and customs procedure by IT system
E. Expansion and enhancement of logistics improvement activities
a) Expand logistics improvement activities to growing affiliated companies
b) Enhance logistics improvement activities cooperating with mother factories
ASEAN: promote the improvement activities in logistics committee
China: find opportunities of logistics improvement through “ on-site logistics survey” and
promote the improvement activities
North America: solve common issues cooperating with America’s related companies through
Group activities
(2) Train logistics engineers for further improvement
a) train logistics engineers at the logistics related education courses and programs
b) improve necessary knowledge (free trade, bonded system, etc.) for global logistics improvement
(3) Ensure compliance and CSR
a) support
