2.1. Actinomycetes
This study included a total of 712 actinomycete isolates with
different morphological characteristics. The actinomycetes were
isolated from the rhizosphere of healthy cotton (G. hirsutum L.),
chili pepper (Capsicum annuum L.), canola (Brassica napus L.),
cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.), watermelon (Citrullus lanatus),
ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Mey.), and forage plants in northern
and western China (Table A.1). The isolates were maintained on
Gause No.1 agar at 4 C.
