A Cinderella Story is a really interesting take on the fairy tale of Cinderella.
This movie stars Hilary Duff as the to-be “Cinderella” and Chad Michel Murray as her “prince.” Hilary narrates some of the movie like she is a telling story, which I found to be nice.
The movie starts off showing when she was just a kid living alone with her dad and how close they were. During one of her birthday parties a lady literally falls into her dads arms and they fell in love.
This was to be her “evil stepmother” in the movie and she had 2 daughters who are obviously supposed to be the “evil step-sisters.”
Everything was going fine till there was an earthquake and her dad died while trying to rescue on of the other females residing in the house. The step mom then inherited everything and changed her life drastically.
She was made to work at what was now her step-mom diners (her dad’s old diner) which got a re-vamp after her dad died and slaved at home as well as juggling high school just to “earn money” to go to Princeton.
In the movie she meets a guy over the internet and finds out that they go to the same school and share the same dream of going to school at Princeton. They finally decide to meet at the Halloween dance. But it turns out that she can’t go, thanks to her stepmother!
The people working at the restaurant are like family to her and Rhonda along with her best friend, Carter, persuaded her to go to the dance and return before midnight. Rhonda (acting like a fairy godmother) lends her a wedding dress she had tucked away and gets a mask from a costume store which matched it perfectly.
She goes to the dance dressed as “Cinderella” or more like a princess, but her prince can’t figure ...
