Supercritical fluid extraction was conducted on an SKF400 setup, which was designed at the Institute of Analytical Device Construction (St. Petersburg,Russia). A raw material sample (1 g) was placed in a 10mL autoclave, which was filled with CO2 at room temperature up to a pressure of 74 atm. The autoclave was heated to the required temperature within 10 min;after that, 50 mL SCCO2 (preliminarily heated) was pumped through the autoclave releasing the extract through the quartz capillary (diameter 50 μm) to the receiver with acetone. During the experiments, the temperature (40, 60, 70, 80°C) and pressure (100–350 atm, step 50 atm) were varied. The prepared extract was quantitatively analyzed on the content of carotenoids and the ratio of α and βcarotene.
