The control group comprised 50 parturients who received
the routine hospital care. The baby was delivered from the
mother, quickly dried, and APGAR score was determined
immediately after cutting the umbilical cord. Then they
were put under a heating device for physical assessment and
vitamin K injection. Finally weighing, dressing and mea-suring the baby were done. The babies were handed to their
mothers after delivery of the placenta and repairing mother’s
perineal tears or episiotomy, wrapped in a blanket and the
mothers were encouraged to begin breastfeeding.
