The results of this are quite simple, very few sunscreens absorb all of the wavelengths associated with this region. Of those tested, the entire basic Coppertone line, regardless of SPF, absorbed only to approximately 380 nm, while wavelengths all the way up to 400 nm have been discovered to cause cancer. The only sunscreens tested which protected up to 400 nm were Ombrelle and Coppertone UVGuard, both of which contained the ingredient Parsol 1789. For this reason only these two sunscreens can be considered as adequate protection against skin cancer, though any sunscreen with UVB protection will protect against simple burning.
