In recent years the increasing popularity of vertical disintegration and outsourcing as corporate strategies have served to increase the scope for spin-offs. If the large organisation wishes to divest itself of certain activities and then buy back the service, this creates valuable opportunities for the more entrepreneurially minded. These days many parent organizations (i.e. those from whom technical entrepreneurs are spun off) are often willing, given appropriate circumstances, to provide assistance to those who choose to legal advice, loans, sale of equipment at attractive rates, premises and orders for goods and services. Of course there are times when employees depart in this way, but on far from amicable terms.
