• at intersections, drivers may not
see you. Do not assume that
they have. Ensure you can be
seen by all road users.
n always allow a ‘cushion of space’
on all sides of you (see Part 3.2):
• in front of you – do not follow too
closely behind another vehicle;
• behind you –
if another vehicle is
following too closely, slow down
and allow the vehicle to overtake
you; and
• to the side of you – when passing
parked cars, be alert and allow
plenty of room as someone may
open a car door or a pedestrian
may step out in front of you.
When you are being overtaken,
move to the left.
