3.2. Body weight and serum biochemical indexes of offspring pigs
The HF group offspring had a significantly lower body weight (P= 0.02) at weaning and tended to have a lower body weight (P= 0.08) at the finishing stage compared with the control group. No differences in the serum TG, TC, HDL-C and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) contents were observed between the two groups at weaning (Table 3). At the finishing stage, significantly elevated serum TG content (P= 0.03) was observed in the HF group; however, the serum TC, HDL-C and LDL-C contents were similar in both groups.
