The BMP results in Table 5 were somewhat low in comparison to
some other reported results for individual food waste [2,21e23].
This could be explained by a shorter fermentation time in this
study, and the samples in this study were dried, which might give
lower BMP yields [24]. Moreover, reported biomethane yields from
food waste can vary due to the heterogeneous nature of the FWand
difference in food nutrient content between regions. Also, operating
temperatures, loading rate [25], bioreactor design [26] and
substrate/inoculum rate [10], pretreatment methods [27,28], and so
forth, can significantly affect the results
