The development of the approach is inspired by a
linguistics method for describing the meaning of
objects - the semiotic triangle by Ogden and
Richards (1930). In our approach, a FV "connects"
a concept (entity) to a document collection, i.e., the
FV is tailored to the specific terminology used in a
particular collection of the documents. Therefore, a
FV constitutes a rich representation of the entities
and is related to the actual terminology used in the
