From the above information, it is clear
that the smoke and haze problem in Northern
Thailand has a negative effect on socio-economic
development, tourism and public health and causes
a disturbance to the daily life of the population
in the region. As this problem is a regular annual
event from January to April, and as such can be
considered as a national disaster, a high priority
should be given to fi nding the appropriate solution
