2.1. Target harbor and the mooring dolphin
The target terminal of the VLCC is located at the entrance of a harbor, which is a typical reclaimed port facing the Pacific Ocean. The water depth around the terminal is about 17 m, including the neighboring navigation channel and turning basin, and in the direction of the ship׳s bow there are other navigation channels and berths, of which water depth is shallow (around 7.5–12 m). One breakwater is located in the direction of the ship׳s stern. The direction of the terminal (the ship׳s heading) is almost west (288°).
