sure they are correct. They search the newspa-
per library, which is called the morgue. ln the
morgue there are books of all kinds. There are
clippings from newspapers and magazines,

the copydesk. Copy editors check for mistakes
in grammar or spellingfthat the writer may
have made in hurrying. Copy editors make up

sides reading the news stories, copy editors
read the advertising and everything else that
