Casually decide that your smoking days are over. Maybe you are in the middle of a cigarette, or maybe you just had one. At a time when you're not really in the mood for one, decide that now is the time to stop and throw them away. This step should be taken about 5-7 days after your initial decision to quit, but if it takes longer, don't sweat it. Remember – this is no big deal, you're just stopping. At the same time you throw away your cigarettes, you are also going to stop taking any caffeine. It is imperative that you quit both at the same time.
At this stage, you can have a cigarette any time you want. Keep in mind that if you end up smoking again, you are not a bad person. It is not the end of the world. Do not stress about it. This is just a personal decision that you have made and you will be healthier, have extra spending cash, have a nicer smile, better breath and you won't smell like smoke all the time. Instead of worrying about starting again, focus on the positives of on deprivation through quitting.
