This type of assessment is referred to in the
industry as a SWOT analysis. SWOT stands for
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
A SWOT analysis can consist of a combination
of individual interviews, surveys, focus groups,
research of relevant socioeconomic trends, and
an internal organizational assessment of the
administrative and program-related capacities
of the organization. The methods used by the
organization to gather the information required
for the SWOT analysis will be based on the
financial and human resources available.
