Seventy-two samples of probiotic food supplements were analyzed.
These included 41 samples collected from 29 processing plants
(Table 1). In addition, 31 samples of the same brands were also
collected at timed intervals (3, 8, and 13 months) from the retailers.
Retailer samples having the same expiry dates as those samples
collected from the manufacturer were selected, in order to assess the
stability of the number and identity of each probiotic supplement
