Figs. 13 and 14, respectively, show the results of the reference scenario and simulated Scenario 3 involving an increase of 56% in total vehicle traffic. The results of these simulations indicate an increase in noise levels in the order of 3 dB(A) at the facades of the two hospitals. This increase further aggravates the problem of noise pollution that already exists in these noise sensitive areas in question. This makes it even more difficult to control the noise emissions, making it practically impossible to achieve the legal limit of [Leq]
55 dB (A)[33]. As can be seen in the noise maps, the noise levels reaching some of the facades exceed the legal limit by about 20 dB (A).
