To perform this test, 100 larvae from each replicate were placed in cylinders containing 15 L of water with a salinity of 19 g L−1 . The test water was the same temperature as the culture water and the shrimp were kept in the test water for 60 min. After that time, the larvae were transferred to similar cylinders con- taining water with 35 g L−1 salinity (the same as that of the culture) where they remained for an additional 60 min. Larval survival was estimated at the end of the procedure.
