Regarding a family history of breast cancer, however,
results are dissimilar, with both significant and insignificant
differences reported (Karayurt et al., 2008; Gwarzo et al.,
2009). In this study, a family history of breast cancer did
not influence breast self-examination practice. Moreover,
subjectively-perceived economic status was not influential,
similar to a previous study (Karayurt et al., 2008).The reason
for the significant difference, based on academic major, was
probably that the natural sciences included departments in
the fields of medicine, such as nursing
