To conclude, English language is important and it should be improve in
Thai education. According to Thailand’s historical background, Thai people are proud
that we have never been colonized, so that is why our country has only one official
language, Thai (Wiriyachitra, 2002). Kapur and Chakraborty (2008) find that English
is increasingly valued in the labor market in this era of globalization. They estimate
the returns to English skills in the Indian economy and find that individuals who are
more likely to have training in English earn significantly higher relative wages and
better occupational outcomes even for the same level of overall education. Therefore, English has played an important role in Thailand as it has been in many other
developing countries (Wiriyachitra, 2002).
