Sixty gram of the composites was applied to a mold
having a squared cavity. The size of the mold cavity was
127 mm x 127 mm and 1.9 mm in depth. Starch-based
composites foams were prepared using a lab model
compression press (Tang- master (Thailand) Co. Ltd.,).
Each molding was placed between the platens; the
temperature was fixed at 170ºC. Millar sheets were used
to cover the molding on both sides to facilitate mold
release. Evaporation of water in the composites began
shortly after the closing of the mold and venting of the
water vapor occurred around the edge of the mold. The
mold was closed for 5 min and finally, foams were
removed from the press, cooled for 10 min at room
temperature and unmolded,
