2.1. Collection and extraction
The roots of M. pudica were collected from the surroundings of Guwahati, India. Air-dried and powdered roots of M. pudica (250 g) were extracted using methanol. The methanol extract was concentrated under vacuum in a rotary evaporator to yield a semisolid mass, which was
further dried in a hot water bath to remove the methanol. This extract was reconstituted in distilled water in order to achieve the desired concentration for all pharmacological tests
