All informants cooked their own tranditional northern food such as Hung-le (one kind of northern curry) They preferred seasoning as fish sauce, pepper,and herbs. They ate food when they were hungry or after they finished working. During weekdays,most informants had lunch alone and had dinner with their families. They sometimes ate out during festivals or when having a party. Khun-toke( eating on the floor with several small dished placed on one big low table,called Toke) was a favorite with informants. All informants likes fresh food , if possible , however,they sometimes bought food cooked in the difference styles such as northeastern or central Thai style or southern style. Pickling was informants favorite form of food preservation. This study reflecred that northen Thai culture strongly influences informants eating behavior.
