We are ready to launch the performance reviews for rating all employees’ performance for Fiscal Year 2014. You will be receiving instructions regarding the mechanics of the performance reviews in ADP but there is some preparation you are required to complete first. That preparation is to read and understand the performance ratings. This is important because we consistently have employees who do not properly rate themselves and who are not properly rated by their supervisor/manager. The ratings are defined to ensure that all employees are rated by the same standard and to make the process easier. Employees who are required to perform a self-evaluation need to make sure they rate themselves according to the rating definitions and provide specific examples to their supervisor/manager to support that rating. When an employee assigns a rating of “Role Model” or “Outstanding” the comments must be sufficient to justify the rating. Again, that requires specific examples not just conclusions. Likewise, supervisors and managers must also assign the appropriate rating and support ratings above “Proficient” with comments containing specific examples sufficient to justify the higher rating.
