• verbalize a basic understanding of the etiology of narcolepsy, its chronic nature, and prescribed treatments
• participate in shared decision-making about care, as desired
• use effective strategies for managing symptoms
• get questions answered and identify resources for future questions
• cope with psychosocial aspects of living with narcolepsy
• engage in lifestyle changes to decrease risk of complications (e.g., accidents)
• experience improved health outcomes
