Intense Adrenal Enhancement
In hypovolemic shock, the adrenals often demonstrate markedly increased enhancement bilaterally(Figure 120] Enhancement of the adrenals is often higher than the surrounding vasculature, and hyperattenuation is defined as having a higher HU than the adjacent IVC. Adrenal enhancement is a frequent sign, seen in up to 59% of patients with severe hypovolemia[8,16l]
